Terri L. Towner

Terri L. Towner is a Professor of Political Science at Oakland University, Michigan, and serves as the 46th President of Pi Sigma Alpha (2024-2026), the National Political Science Honor Society. With over 14 years of dedicated service to the organization, she has held multiple leadership roles including Chapter Advisor and Faculty Editor-in-Chief of its Undergraduate Journal.

Her research centers on social media's role in political campaigns and elections, with specific focus on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. As co-Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Information Technology and Politics, she advances scholarship on the bidirectional relationship between information technology and governance. Her work spans critical areas including digital political communication and election technology.
