Terri L. Jashinsky is an Associate Professor in the Counseling Department and Director of the Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling Program at Mount Mary University's School of Graduate Health & Professional Programs. She holds a PhD in Educational Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, with minors in Clinical Psychology and Rehabilitation Psychology and Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a BS in Kinesiology from the University of Minnesota. Her research focuses on older adult substance use, career development, and reducing stigma toward individuals with addictions.
Dr. Jashinsky has been recognized with awards including the 2021 National Career Development Association 'Article of the Year' and the 2016-2017 Excellence in Teaching Award. Her work frequently addresses intersections of disability, mental health, and societal impact, as seen in her presentations at conferences like the North Central Association for Counselor Education and Supervision, and her publications in Career Development Quarterly and SAGE encyclopedias.
Her professional affiliations include the American Rehabilitation Counselors Association and editorial board membership with the Wisconsin Counseling Journal. Dr. Jashinsky’s presentations often explore innovative approaches to counselor education, motivational interviewing, and trauma recovery strategies.
