معرفی
Dr. Teresita Insausti is a postdoctoral researcher specializing in insect neuroanatomy and functional morphology, with a focus on mechanosensory systems and color change mechanisms in arthropods. Since 2005, she has held a Postdoctoral Fellowship at IRBI (France), previously working as a Teaching and Research Associate Assistant at the University of Buenos Aires (1991–2003), where she obtained her PhD in 1997. Her research combines advanced microscopy techniques and neuronal marking to explore sensory processing in the wood cricket Nemobius sylvestris and pigment dynamics in the color-changing crab spider Misumena vatia.
- Education: PhD (1997) from the University of Buenos Aires.
- Key Research Areas: Insect Neuroanatomy, Functional Morphology, Histology, Neurophysiology, and Color Change Mechanisms.
- Major Projects: (1) Cercal mechanosensory system in Nemobius sylvestris and (2) Ommochrome pigment granule formation in crab spiders.
- Technical Expertise: Light, fluorescent, and electron microscopy; neuronal marking; intracellular recordings.
Her publications from 2000–2009 span insect sensory systems, circadian rhythms, and pigment dynamics, with a focus on neuroanatomical organization and functional implications. She collaborates with institutions in France and Argentina and has mentored lab members such as David Giron and Sylvain Pincebourde.
- Scientific Awards: Postdoctoral Fellowship at IRBI (France).
