Teresa Rushe is a Professor in the School of Psychology Behavioural Development and Welfare at Queen's University Belfast. Her research focuses on developmental psychopathology and neuropsychology, with expertise in neurodevelopmental origins of psychosis and childhood adversity. She completed her PhD in 1996 at the Institute of Psychiatry in London under Sir Robin Murray. Current projects include leadership roles in the All Ireland Paediatric Cardiology Research Network (2021–2026) and the EU Horizon 2020 RECOGNIZED project as a Consultant Neuropsychologist.
Education:
- PhD in Neuropsychology of Schizophrenia (1996, Institute of Psychiatry, London)
- Post-doctoral research at Institute of Psychiatry and University of Manchester (2004–2008).
Research Interests: Neurodevelopmental disorders, psychosis, adverse childhood experiences, and neuroimaging techniques. Recent work includes studies on childhood adversity and substance misuse in young adults, intergenerational parenting transmission, and neighborhood effects on mental health in Northern Ireland.

- Collaborations with EU Horizon 2020 and All Ireland Paediatric Cardiology Network.
Advising: Accepting PhD students in childhood adversity and neurodevelopmental factors in psychosis. Supervised 7 students to date.
