Teresa M. Cochran

Teresa M. Cochran, PT, DPT, MA is an Associate Professor and Associate Dean at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) College of Allied Health Professions, based at the Douglas A. Kristensen Rural Health Education Complex in Kearney. She has been instrumental in expanding the College's presence in Kearney since 2018, fostering collaboration with the UNMC College of Nursing and University of Nebraska at Kearney (UNK), and played a key role in designing new facilities to accommodate UNMC's growing presence in the region.

• Education: BA in Psychology (UNO, 1989), MA in Psychology/Developmental Psychobiology (UN Graduate College, 1994), DPT (Creighton University, 1996)

Her research focuses on interprofessional education (IPE), particularly the development of longitudinal curricula to implement IPEC core competencies. She also maintains clinical expertise in geriatric physical therapy as a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist.

Dr. Cochran has received significant recognition for her contributions:

• CQuence Distinguished Professorship for Innovation in Health Care (2020)
• Distinguished Fellow of the National Academies of Practice (2016)
• Charter member of the American Interprofessional Health Collaborative (2015)
• Emerita status as ABPTS Geriatric Clinical Specialist (2021)

As a leader in rural health education, she advocates for student-centered learning environments and coordinates interprofessional initiatives across UNMC's expanding Colleges of Medicine, Pharmacy, and Public Health in Kearney.
