Teresa Holder is a Professor and Chair of the Department of Communication at Meredith College. She holds a Ph.D. in Organizational Communication from Ohio University (2018), an M.A. in Interpersonal/Family Communication from Indiana State University (2018), and a B.A. in Speech Communication and Psychology from Tennessee Temple University (2018). Her research focuses on organizational dynamics, interpersonal communication, and strengths-based leadership, exemplified by her 2018 documentary Phoenix Rising, screened at the Full Frame Theatre as part of the Center for Documentary Studies.
- Teaching: COM theory, Public Relations, Senior Thesis advising
- Advising: Supervised 60+ independent research projects, including 8 honors students and 14 Conference for Undergraduate Scholarship (CSA) presenters
Certified in emotional intelligence for higher education (since 2012) and as a Certified Performance and Learning Professional (CPLP) through the Association of Talent Development. Her administrative leadership has expanded opportunities for students through hands-on fieldwork and internships.
