Terence Lynn

Terence Lynn, PhD, CAGS, LMHC, is an Associate Professor of Graduate Psychology at Salem State University since 2008. Previously affiliated with The College of New Jersey, he has over 25 years of teaching experience in psychology. His research explores masculinity and male identity development, police psychology, and the intersectionality of law enforcement with behavioral health.

Dr. Lynn has significantly contributed to law enforcement training as the principal creator of the NYPD Crisis Intervention Training Program and overseer of the NYPD Hostage Negotiation Team Training at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. With a career spanning three decades in mental health counseling, policing, and forensic work, he has served as a Police Academy Director and testified as an expert witness in over 500 cases.
