Teodor Gabriel Crainic is an Associate Professor at the Department of Computer Science and Operations Research within the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at the University of Montreal. He also holds the NSERC Industrial Research Chair in Logistics Management at UQAM's School of Management and is an Associate Professor at Molde University College's Department of Economics and Administration. His research focuses on network optimization, metaheuristics, and parallel computing applied to smart transportation and logistics systems.
Research Interests:
- Network and combinatorial optimization for multi-echelon supply chains
- Metaheuristic algorithms (tabu search, parallel methods)
- Intelligent transport systems and vehicle routing
- Stochastic network design and intermodal rail transportation
- E-commerce and electronic market simulation
Scientific Honors:
- 1993 Excellence in Research Award from Université du Québec
- 2006 Award of Merit from the Canadian Operational Research Society
- Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada since 2006
