Dr. Teng Li is the Keystone Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Maryland, College Park. He leads the Laboratory for Advanced Sustainable Materials and Technology (LASMAT) and is affiliated with the Maryland NanoCenter and University of Maryland Energy Research Center. His research focuses on sustainable materials, energy storage systems, and nanoelectronics, with notable contributions to 'super wood' and flexible battery technologies.
Education: Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Harvard University (2006). Awards include the SES Young Investigator Medal, E. Robert Kent Teaching Award, and R&D 100 Award for super wood. He serves as Associate Editor for Extreme Mechanics Letters and has pioneered platforms like imechanica.org.
Research interests span mechanics of sustainable materials, energy storage, and programmable nanomaterials. Recent articles highlight breakthroughs in wearable batteries, nanocellulose composites, and AI-driven material discovery.
