T.D. (Tekla) Mecsnóber is an Assistant Professor at the University of Groningen’s Faculty of Arts, affiliated with the Department of English Language and Culture and the Research Centre Arts in Society (AiS). She holds a PhD in Modern English Literature from Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest, with additional qualifications in Theoretical Linguistics and Hungarian Literature. She has taught at institutions in Hungary, Belgium, and the Netherlands, with extended research stays in the UK, Ireland, and Switzerland. Mecsnóber’s work bridges literary criticism, cultural studies, and historical analysis, emphasizing Joyce’s engagement with language politics and visual design. She supervises MA theses and leads projects such as Rewriting Joyce’s Europe, examining the intersection of language and nationalism in modernist texts.
