Tejinder P. Singh

Tejinder P. Singh is an Associate Professor in the Department of Family & Preventive Medicine at the University of Utah. With a background in dentistry (BDS, MDS) and public health (MPH), he specializes in community-engaged intervention research aimed at improving health equity globally. His work spans diverse cultural contexts across East and South Asia, North America, and East Africa.

His research focuses on community engagement, social determinants of health, and implementation science, particularly in low-resource settings. He has led projects in oral health, gender-based violence, WaSH, and sexual and reproductive rights, often collaborating with local organizations to address systemic barriers.

Recent publications highlight his work on opioid misuse among Indigenous youth, mental health impacts of the pandemic, and indigenous community responses to public health crises. He also directs a learning abroad program in India and South Korea.
