Tejas Bhatelia is an Associate Professor at Curtin University within the WASM School of Minerals, Energy and Chemical Engineering, part of the Faculty of Science and Engineering. His research focuses on chemical engineering, catalysis, and process intensification, with significant contributions to methanol synthesis optimization, CO₂ utilization, and advanced materials development. He has authored over 50 peer-reviewed articles and holds patents related to reactor design and flow systems. His work integrates experimental, computational, and industrial approaches to address challenges in sustainable energy and environmental engineering.
- Position: Associate Professor
- University: Curtin University
- Key Research Themes: Catalysis, Process Intensification, CO₂ Capture, Methanol Production
Dr. Bhatelia's research spans catalyst topology in methanol synthesis, structured packing hydrodynamics, and sonochemical functionalization of materials. His team explores low-carbon processes using solar thermal energy and mineral carbonation of industrial waste. He collaborates internationally and leads projects funded by industry and government grants.
Notable contributions include the development of 3D-printed structured packings (SpiroPak), fractal flow mixers, and VIP hoods for healthcare ventilation. His work is published in journals like Chemical Engineering Science, ACS Materials Letters, and Advanced Functional Materials.
