Teemu Murtola

Teemu Murtola is a Professor at the University of Tampere, affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine and Life Sciences and the Department of Surgery, within the KIRU (Surgical Responsibility Area). His research focuses on urologic oncology, particularly prostate cancer, including risk factors, treatment outcomes, and population-based screening impacts.

His research interests span prostate cancer epidemiology, pharmacoepidemiology (statins, NSAIDs, antihypertensives), androgen deprivation therapy, cancer screening, and patient-centered outcomes such as sexuality, relationships, and physical activity during treatment.
