Ted Weesner Jr is a Lecturer in the Department of English at Tufts University, part of the School of Arts and Sciences. He holds an MFA in Creative Writing from Emerson College (1996) and a BA in English and Economics from Trinity College (1986). His creative work spans short stories, literary journalism, and nonfiction, appearing in prominent journals like Ploughshares, Cincinnati Review, and Gastronomica. Notably, his story 'Tuscaloosa' received a Best American Distinguished selection. He also contributes to academic publications such as The Oxford Encyclopedia of American Literature.
His awards include the PEN/New England Discovery Award and grants from the Somerville Arts Council. Weesner teaches writing at both Tufts University and the Museum School, emphasizing creative processes and narrative techniques. His research interests intersect creative writing pedagogy with contemporary American literary trends.
