Prof. Tatjana Prebeg is a Professor at the Department of Ornamental Plants, Landscape Architecture and Garden Art, Division for Horticulture and Landscape Architecture, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Zagreb. She has been employed at the institution since 2010, following previous work at the Ruđer Bošković Institute in Zagreb from 1997 to 2010.
Her academic background includes a PhD in Biology (2000-2004), a Master's degree in Biology (1997-2000), and an MSc in Molecular Biology (1991-1996).
Prof. Prebeg's research centers on physiological aspects of ornamental plant cultivation, plant-environment interactions, and plastid differentiation. Her work integrates plant physiology with environmental science to optimize ornamental plant growth and application in horticultural settings.
She has coordinated significant projects including:
- "Unapređenje stručne prakse na preddiplomskim i diplomskim studijima Agronomskog fakulteta" funded by the European Social Fund (2020-2023)
- "Održivi sustavi proizvodnje i korištenja ratarskih kultura" supported by the University of Zagreb (2017)
- "Biotehnološko formuliranje promotora biljnog rasta kapsulacijom gljivičnog bio-čimbenika" supported by the University of Zagreb (2015)
Prof. Prebeg teaches core courses such as "Cvjećarstvo 2", "Biološki i fiziološki čimbenici proizvodnje i primjene ukrasnog bilja", and "Okolišni čimbenici u ukrasnoj hortikulturi", alongside additional instruction in Biology at the Academy of Fine Arts, University of Zagreb.
