Dr. Tatjana Lichtenstein is an Associate Professor of Modern Eastern Europe in the Department of History at the University of Texas at Austin, affiliated with the College of Liberal Arts. She specializes in Holocaust and genocide studies, with a focus on the Bohemian Lands during WWII.

- Director of UT’s Schusterman Center for Jewish Studies (2017-2021)

Her research explores intermarried families during the Holocaust and the legacies of WWII in Eastern Europe. Recent publications analyze social networks in the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia and paternity disputes under Nazi persecution.
She contributes to the Frank Denius Normandy Scholars Program on WWII and collaborates across departments (History, Religious Studies, Government) in teaching genocide studies courses.
