Tatiana Saraseko is a Doctoral Researcher at the Research Training Group (RTG) World Politics at Bielefeld University since October 2020. She holds a B.A. in Political Science from Bard College (U.S.) and International Relations from Saint Petersburg State University, along with an M.A. in Studies in European Societies from Saint Petersburg State University. Her doctoral project investigates the actorness of global cities in global governance, focusing on their structural roles, interactions with other actors, and thematic agendas promoted in world politics.
Her research employs document analysis and expert interviews to explore how global cities influence climate policy frameworks, including their engagement in UN climate processes like COP27 and SB58 UNFCCC. She has conducted field research at institutions such as the World ICLEI Summit and the San Diego Climate Action Network. Key themes in her work include multilevel governance, urban climate diplomacy, and the transformation of the Westphalian system.
Tatiana has presented her research at numerous conferences, including the DAAD Centres' Conference of German and European Studies and the ECPR General Conference. She has also participated in specialized trainings on qualitative research methods and sustainable development governance. She is affiliated with the RTG World Politics and contributes to gender equality workshops aimed at supporting female researchers in academia.
