Tatiana Reinoza is an Associate Professor of Art History at the University of Notre Dame du Lac. She holds affiliations with the Institute for Latino Studies and the Initiative on Race & Resilience. Her research focuses on Latinx visual art, borderlands discourse, and art activism. Reinoza earned a Ph.D., M.A., and B.A. in Art History from the University of Texas, Austin and Sacramento State University.
Research Interests: Latinx Art, Printmaking, Photography, Art and Activism, 20th Century Latin American Art, Borderlands Theory. Her work interrogates how visual art challenges colonial geographies and anti-immigrant narratives. Her book Reclaiming the Americas: Latinx Art and the Politics of Territory (2023) analyzes printmaking’s role in reclaiming Indigenous and migrant spaces.
Awards: 2022-2023 Getty Scholar grant; 2019 Best Essay Prize from LASA Visual Culture Section. Current Project: Retorno: Art and Kinship in the Making of a Central American Diaspora.
Publications: Co-edited Self Help Graphics at Fifty (2023), exploring community art for social justice. Her scholarship bridges print archives, migration histories, and decolonial practices.
