Tatiana Domratcheva

Dr. Tatiana Domratcheva is a computational photobiology researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Medical Research, Heidelberg, Germany. Her career spans postdoctoral and independent research roles since 2001, with a focus on quantum-chemical studies of light-induced biological processes. Affiliated with Prof. Ilme Schlichting’s Department of Biomolecular Mechanisms, she leads an independent group since 2016.

Her research bridges quantum chemistry, photochemistry, and molecular biology, focusing on photoreceptor proteins and DNA photorepair. Key areas include radical pair mechanisms, flavin-containing proteins, and electron transfer reactions.
