Dr. Tarsem Sahota is a Post Doctoral Fellow at De Montfort University, affiliated with the Leicester School of Pharmacy within the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences. He collaborates with the Department of Diabetes and Endocrinology at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust, the National Physical Laboratory, and the Renfrew Group.
- Research Interests: Insulin physico-chemistry, diabetes control, drug delivery systems, polymer rheology, biomedical engineering, and physiological parameters for exercise in diabetes. His work focuses on glucose-sensitive materials for closed-loop insulin delivery and in vivo studies of polymeric delivery systems.
- Grants: Co-Investigator on NEAT funding (£278k), HFCE matched funding (£25k), Edith Murphy Foundation grants (£50k in 2008, £200k in 2011), and Lachesis (£5k).
Key Publications include studies on dextran-concanavalin A gel materials, FITC-insulin conjugates, and toxicological assessments of silica nanoparticles. His research has been presented at conferences like the Controlled Release Society symposia.
