Tara M. Rizzo

Tara M. Rizzo serves as Deputy Director of the Equity Research and Innovation Center (ERIC) at Yale School of Medicine, where she leads center operations while actively participating in research initiatives within the Department of Internal Medicine.

Her expertise spans critical areas of health equity research:

• Patient experiences of discrimination in healthcare systems
• Racial/ethnic and gender distribution in medical education
• Promotion and retention of diverse faculty in academic medicine
• Implementation of complex data and electronic medical record systems

Ms. Rizzo directs significant research projects including the Patient Reported Experiences of Discrimination in Health Care Tool (PreDict) and the Promotion and Retention of Diversity in Medical Education (PaRoDiME) initiative, which analyzes national patterns in medical school faculty diversity through comprehensive data analysis.

Her methodological strengths integrate both qualitative and quantitative approaches to address systemic inequities in healthcare delivery and medical education.
