Dr. Tanziha Mahjabin is an Adjunct Research Fellow in the School of Engineering at The University of Western Australia. She holds a PhD in Physical Oceanography (2019), specializing in Dense Shelf Water Cascades. Her research focuses on coastal processes, ocean mixing, remote sensing, and climate change impacts.
Education: Doctor of Philosophy in Oceanography (UWA, 2013–2019).
Research Interests: Continental shelf dynamics, cross-shelf exchange, ocean modeling, sediment transport, and coastal protection strategies. Her work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals related to climate action and life below water.
Awards: Recipient of the 2023 Oceans Graduate School Early-Career Research Award for contributions to coastal oceanography. Her paper on dense shelf water cascades ranked in the Top 100 Earth Science papers (2021).
