معرفی
Tanya Klymenko is a Lecturer in Biochemistry at Sheffield Hallam University since 2017. She holds a PhD from EMBL and Heidelberg University for her work on epigenetic regulation of HOX genes. Her teaching focuses on biochemistry modules for biomedical sciences courses, including leading the 'Genes to Proteins' and 'Biochemistry in Action' modules. Her research explores how nuclear dynamics can improve cancer treatments, particularly targeting blood cancers like chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). Collaborations with institutions in Ulm, Cologne, and London have led to identifying novel CLL prognosis markers. She is also a Visiting Lecturer at Barts Cancer Institute, Queen Mary University of London.
Research interests include epigenetic regulation, nuclear structure in disease, and personalized cancer therapies. Her work aims to bridge basic science with clinical applications, emphasizing CLL treatment optimization through molecular insights.
Key achievements include fellowship statuses (FHEA and FIBMS) and contributions to multidisciplinary projects in hemato-oncology. Supervision activities include MSc projects in haemato-oncology and PhD projects on nuclear lamina proteins' role in blood cancer models.
