Tanya Christiansen

Tanya Christiansen is a Professor of Mathematics at the University of Missouri's College of Arts and Science. Her primary research explores partial differential equations, focusing on scattering theory and spectral analysis to understand wave propagation perturbations. She received her Ph.D. from MIT in 1993 and a B.A. from Rice University in 1989.

Her research investigates how perturbations affect wave behavior and how information about these disturbances can be deduced from scattered wave measurements. This work bridges mathematical theory and physical applications in quantum mechanics and inverse problems.

Christiansen teaches courses including Calculus II and Complex Analysis, contributing to both undergraduate and graduate mathematics education at Mizzou.
