Assistant Professor Tansel Uyar is affiliated with Başkent University in the Biomedical Engineering Program. He holds a PhD in Bioengineering from Hacettepe University (2018), a Master's in Nanotechnology and Nanomedicine (2012), and a BSc in Biomedical Engineering (2009). His research focuses on biomaterials, image processing, and nanotechnology applications in biomedical engineering.
His work includes deep learning-based analysis of white blood cells, nanofiber-reinforced dental composites, and AI-driven dental caries detection. He has supervised projects related to medical mask development, contact lens solution stability, and regenerative endodontics.
Scientific Awards include participation in international invention fairs like ISIF23 and ARCA 2021. He has served as a reviewer for journals such as Medical & Biological Engineering & Computing and Gazi University Journal of Engineering and Architecture.
As an academic mentor, he has guided students in cell segmentation, dental biomaterials, and medical device development. His expertise bridges materials science and clinical dentistry through innovative electrospinning and image processing techniques.
