Tanja Clees

Prof. Dr. Tanja Clees is a Research Professor at the Department of Engineering and Communication of Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences (Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg, H-BRS) and a member of the Institute for Technology, Resource Conservation and Energy Efficiency (TREE). She has held leadership roles at Fraunhofer SCAI and H-BRS since 1998, focusing on energy networks, hydrogen technology, and sector coupling.

• Education: Diploma in Mathematics (minor in physical chemistry, 1999), Doctorate in Applied Mathematics (2004), University of Cologne.
• Leadership Roles: Head of 'Robust Design' group (2007-2010), Head of 'High Performance Analytics' department (2011-2018), Member of the TREE Institute Directorate (since 2020), Project Leader for multiple energy-related initiatives (since 2009).

Her research emphasizes Energy 4.0 and the integration of renewable energy sources. She has contributed to projects like MathEnergy, FlexHyX, and TRE³L, addressing challenges in energy infrastructure and simulation. Her scientific awards include the GMD Best Diploma Thesis Award (2000) and recognition in the 'Fast Track' program for female postdoctoral researchers (2008).
