Tania L. Abramson is a Lecturer in Feminist Studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB), and in the Honors Collegium at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). She specializes in Art & Trauma and Gender & Visual Art, with research focusing on gendered trauma expressed in visual art and systemic issues like gendered violence, child sexual abuse, and systemic racism. Her courses include Feminism, Art & Metaphors of Trauma 159 and Art & Trauma 149, co-created at UCLA.
Education: MFA from Claremont Graduate University and BFA from California State University Long Beach. Abramson is also the Art Editor for the anti-racist journal Breathe, and has published three art books (Shame and the Eternal Abyss, Truth Lies, and Concern).
