Tania Granadillo is an Associate Professor in the Department of Anthropology at Western University, specializing in Linguistic and Sociocultural Anthropology. She holds a PhD from the University of Arizona (2006). Her research focuses on endangered languages of the Amazon, particularly Arawak languages like Mapoyo, Mako, and Kurripako, emphasizing language revitalization, sociolinguistic dynamics, and community-driven documentation. She explores themes of language policy, multilingualism, and the intersection of language with identity, politics, and cultural preservation.
Her work integrates ethnographic fieldwork with linguistic analysis, advocating for collaborative methodologies that center Indigenous communities.
