Dr. Tanesha Johnson is a Research Fellow at the University of Kentucky’s College of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics, where she integrates clinical care with applied research. Her clinical work focuses on supporting children, teens, and families adjusting to injuries or illnesses, particularly those affected by Sickle Cell Disease.

Dr. Johnson’s research prioritizes understanding how socioeconomic status influences racial discrimination, mental health outcomes, and medical trauma. She is also committed to developing quality improvement projects in hospital systems, especially for under-resourced departments. Her clinical expertise includes psychoeducational assessments for ASD, ADHD, and other psychological concerns, as well as interventions in school, outpatient, and inpatient settings, parent management training, and chronic pain management.
