Tan Sok Teng is a Lecturer at the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health and NUS College, focusing on community participation and health equity. She earned her PhD in Public Health from NUS in 2023, with prior qualifications from the University of Edinburgh and Universiti Putra Malaysia.

Her research explores the social determinants of health, health literacy, social capital, and community-led initiatives for marginalized populations. She uses qualitative methods to assess health equity in refugee communities and NCD management in low-SES groups.
Her recent publications address refugee health, NCDs in displaced populations, antimicrobial resistance policy, and structural barriers to healthcare. These works emphasize community engagement and policy reform.
She has been recognized as a Senior Fellow at The Equity Initiative and an Atlantic Fellow for Health Equity, reflecting her commitment to health disparities reduction.
