Assoc. Prof. Tan Ming Kwang is an academic at Monash University's Malaysia School of Engineering, specializing in microfluidics and thermofluids. His research focuses on surface acoustic wave (SAW)-driven systems for applications like heat transfer enhancement, nanoparticle filtration, and plasma-activated aerosols. He leads or collaborates on projects involving graphene-based cooling solutions, wastewater treatment, and biomedical applications of plasma technologies.
His expertise spans SAW microfluidics, nanomaterials, and sustainable engineering. Notable contributions include developing hybrid graphene coatings for LED cooling, optimizing plasma-activated aerosols for disinfection, and advancing cooling technologies for high-temperature electronics. He has received the ITEX 2018 Silver Medal for innovative contributions.
Tan Ming Kwang is actively involved in interdisciplinary research, collaborating on projects like 'Graphene Enhanced Devices for Electronics Cooling' and 'Development of a 3D Metastatic Breast Cancer-on-Chip Model'. He teaches courses in reliability engineering and industrial noise control at Monash University.
