Tamunonye Cheetham-West is a Gibbs Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at Yale University. Their research focuses on low-dimensional geometry and topology, particularly profinite completions of 3-manifold groups and related questions. They are mentored by Yair Minsky at Yale and previously studied under Alan Reid at Rice University, where they completed their Ph.D.
Current roles include co-organizing the Yale Geometry & Topology seminar with Eduardo Reyes and contributing to GATSBY initiatives. Upcoming engagements include the Midwest Summer School in Geometry, Topology, and Dynamics (June 2-6, 2025).
