Tamra Loeb

Tamra Loeb is an Associate Adjunct Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. Her research focuses on the intersection of trauma, health disparities, and HIV care among marginalized populations, particularly Black and Latinx communities. Dr. Loeb has maintained a productive research career spanning over two decades with consistent publication output.

Dr. Loeb's recent publications demonstrate a strong focus on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on vulnerable populations, particularly Black and Latinx individuals living with HIV. She has been actively involved in diabetes prevention initiatives and community-based interventions aimed at improving health equity, including the Women-Centered Program for Women of Color (WC4WC).

Dr. Loeb has received NIH funding for her research on "Child Abuse, HIV Risks and Reproductive Outcomes" (R03MH071154, 2004-2007), where she served as Principal Investigator. Her collaborative work extends across multiple institutions within the University of California system, with frequent co-authorship with researchers such as Gail Wyatt, Alison Hamilton, and Arleen Brown.
