Tamas Wiandt

Tamas Wiandt is a Professor in the School of Mathematics and Statistics at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), serving as Director of the Applied Statistics Graduate Programs and Undergraduate Program Coordinator for Statistics. He holds a BS from Jozsef Attila University (Hungary) and a Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota.

His research focuses on Dynamical Systems Analysis and Mathematical Modeling, with notable contributions to celestial mechanics and topological dynamics. Recent work includes studies on three-body problem inequalities and attractor intensity in dynamical systems.

Wiandt teaches courses spanning foundational mathematics to advanced topics, including Real Variables, Dynamical Systems, and Probability/Statistics. He actively mentors through independent studies and undergraduate research initiatives.

His academic leadership includes directing graduate programs and coordinating statistical education at RIT. Professional activities include conference participation, such as representing the School of Mathematical Sciences at events.
