Tamas Borbath

Tamas Borbath is a researcher at the Max Planck Institute of Biological Cybernetics, Department of High-Field Magnetic Resonance. His research focuses on developing a software platform for post-processing multi-modal MRI data and improving the quantification of Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (MRS) data as part of the EU-funded CDS-QuaMRI project. This initiative aims to create a clinical decision support system integrating MRI modalities for quantitative analysis, particularly for diagnosing major depressive disorder (MDD) and multiple sclerosis (MS).

He has contributed to co-developing software engineering structures with GyroTools and integrating existing MRS scripts into a unified solution. His work addresses challenges in MRS fitting, such as lipid/macromolecular signal artifacts and spatial prior knowledge for spectroscopy imaging (MRSI) data. The project involves collaboration with institutions across Europe.
