Tamara Happé

Tamara Happé is a PhD Candidate in the department of Water and Climate Risk at the Institute for Environmental Studies (IVM) within the Faculty of Science at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU). Her research is part of the European project eXtreme events: Artificial Intelligence for Detection and Attribution (XAIDA), where she focuses specifically on detecting heatwaves in Europe and analyzing their underlying drivers.

Her educational background includes a Master's degree in Earth Sciences: Earth & Climate from VU Amsterdam (2021) and a Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences from Amsterdam University College (2018). For her Master's thesis, she conducted research at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research in Germany, examining the relationship between North Atlantic sea surface temperatures and European summer extreme temperatures.
