Dr. Tamara Fedotiuk is a Research Fellow and Visiting Researcher at Middlesex University's Faculty of Science and Technology, supported by the Council of Scientists at Risk Fellowship (2022-2024). She holds a PhD and Master's in Research Psychology from Kiev Dragomanov Pedagogical University, with 25+ years of experience bridging academic research and practical interventions in child development across Ukraine and the UK.
Her research examines:
- Child/adolescent mental health diagnostics
- School adjustment and stress coping mechanisms
- Self-esteem and empathy interventions
- Parental support systems
- Music therapy for displaced populations
Awards and recognition:
- Researcher at Risk Fellowship (2022-2024)
She leads fieldwork through the Music, Cognition and Communication Lab (MCC Lab) and collaborates with the Centre for Abuse and Trauma Studies (CATS) on trauma-impact assessments. As a Ukrainian refugee herself, she volunteers at London's Ukrainian Center, providing psychological support to displaced families.
