Professor Tamara Atkin is a Professor of Medieval and Early Modern Literature and Book History at the University of Oxford and a Tutorial Fellow at The Queen's College. She specializes in the material conditions shaping literary production and reception, with a focus on premodern drama, manuscript-print interactions, and the early English book trade. Her research is funded by prestigious Leverhulme fellowships and has led to groundbreaking discoveries of medieval and Tudor manuscript fragments. She teaches English literature from 1350–1660 and holds honorary positions at the University of Bristol and Queen Mary University of London.
Her academic journey includes a DPhil from Oxford and prior roles at Queen Mary University of London (2008–2024). Key research projects include Reusing Books in Early Modern England and a forthcoming study on the second-hand book trade. She collaborates with institutions worldwide, emphasizing interdisciplinary approaches to textual studies.
Professor Atkin’s scholarly output includes monographs like Reading Drama in Tudor England (2018) and co-edited volumes such as Early English Drama in Manuscript (2019).
