Prof. Talitha Feenstra is a Professor of Pharmaco-economics at the University of Groningen, holding dual affiliations with the Faculty of Science and Engineering and the Faculty of Medical Sciences. She is also a Senior Researcher at the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) and a Health Economist at the University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG). Her work focuses on health technology assessment (HTA), economic evaluation of precision medicine, and patient-level modeling. She has contributed to national guidelines for economic evaluations in healthcare and serves on committees for dementia research and the Dutch National Health Care Institute.
Her research interests include HTA methodologies, diabetes mellitus, mental health outcomes, and the economic implications of chronic diseases. Recent projects include developing models for mental health policy evaluation (EVANEMENT) and optimizing pharmaceutical care for chronic heart failure (COHESION). She teaches courses on pharmacoeconomics at both the bachelor and master levels and has led projects funded by ZonMW, IMI, and the Dutch National Healthcare Institute.
Prof. Feenstra’s work bridges academia and policy, with publications in journals like Value in Health and Journal of Diabetes and its Complications. Her current projects aim to address labor cost estimation in HTA and improve the sustainability of mental healthcare interventions.
