Tal Orenshtein is a tenure-track Assistant Professor at the Department of Mathematics and Applications, University of Milano-Bicocca. Their research focuses on stochastic processes, probability theory, and mathematical models in statistical mechanics, including rough paths in random media, interface dynamics in 1+1 dimensions, and self-interacting random walks. They actively participate in international conferences and seminars such as the 4th Italian Meeting on Probability & Mathematical Statistics and the CIME Summer School.
- Education: Master's thesis under Boaz Tsaban (Adv. Math., 2013) addressing a variation of the Gerlits-Nagy open problem in topology.
Key research themes include:
- Wetting dynamics and space-time correlations in KPZ/EW universality classes.
- Random walks in static/dynamic environments and their interactions with probabilistic models.
Collaborations include prominent researchers like Peter K. Friz, Gady Kozma, and Boaz Tsaban.
