Professor Takeshi Yamada is a faculty member at the Australian National University within the Research School of Finance, Actuarial Studies and Statistics. He holds the title of Professor of Finance and serves as Head of Finance, with a research focus on financial markets, corporate finance, and institutional impacts in Asian economies.
- Education: PhD in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley; Master and Bachelor degrees in Economics from Keio University.
His research spans empirical asset pricing, corporate governance, and political finance, particularly examining Asian financial markets. Key areas include the role of investors in Japan, government interventions in corporate sectors, and the interplay between banks and corporate behavior. Recent work focuses on corporate R&D efficiency, central bank equity purchases, and bank-corporate relationships.
Professor Yamada's research has been published in top-tier journals such as the Journal of Finance, Review of Financial Studies, and Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis. His studies have been funded by grants from the Ministry of Education Singapore and the Research Grants Committee Hong Kong.
