Takeshi Saito is a Professor at the Department of Mathematical Sciences, University of Tokyo. His research focuses on arithmetic geometry, particularly in Galois representations and ramification theory.
- Member of the Mathematical Society of Japan
- Editorial board: Documenta DMV, Japanese Journal of Mathematics, and Journal of Algebraic Geometry
His work includes foundational contributions to étale cohomology and l-adic representations of global/local fields. Key publications address conductor formulas (2004), ramification theory (2002, 2013), and characteristic cycles (2017). The Number Theory Seminar at the University of Tokyo (Wednesday 17:00-18:00) is among his organized activities.
Major awards include the Algebra Prize (1998) and Spring Prize (2001) from the Mathematical Society of Japan. His research spans collaborations with institutions like IHES, the Morningside Center, and University of Tokyo.
