معرفی
Dr. Taisuke Sasaki is a materials scientist specializing in magnesium alloy development at the National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS) in Tsukuba, Japan. He was a visiting researcher at NIMS in 2018, presenting his work on heat-treatable wrought magnesium alloys.
Dr. Sasaki's research focuses on Microstructure Physics and Alloy Design, particularly developing magnesium alloys with properties comparable to aluminum alloys. His work demonstrates how microalloying can substantially improve age-hardening responses in magnesium alloys without rare earth elements. He has pioneered research on Mg-1.2Al-0.8Zn-0.5Ca-0.4Mn sheet alloys that show excellent room temperature formability (Erichsen value of 7.7 mm) and high yield strength over 200 MPa after T6 treatment.
His publication record shows significant contributions to understanding solute cluster formation and bake-hardening capabilities in magnesium alloys. The research demonstrates how 2% tensile strain followed by artificial aging at 170°C for just 20 minutes can increase strength to 240 MPa through solute element segregation along dislocations.
Dr. Sasaki collaborates with prominent researchers including K. Hono, S. Kamado, and T. Nakata, publishing in top materials science journals such as Scripta Materialia and Acta Materialia.
