Tahar Messadi serves as Associate Professor and 21st Century Chair in Sustainability at the Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design, University of Arkansas, specializing in building systems integration and sustainable design methodologies for architectural education and practice.

Additional investigations span daylighting modeling, energy optimization of smart facades, high-performance school environments, and augmented reality applications in architectural pedagogy. He developed the Master of Design in Integrated Wood Design curriculum and conducts national sustainability workshops through AASHE.
Dr. Messadi supervises doctoral and master's students while securing significant research funding from the Forest Products Laboratory and National Science Foundation for mass timber innovation projects, complementing his consultancy work in acoustics and daylighting design.
He leads the Master of Design in Integrated Wood Design program and directs national sustainability research workshops through the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education, advancing practical applications of timber construction technologies.
