Taeghwan Hyeon is a Professor and Director of the Center for Nanoparticle Research at the Institute for Basic Science (IBS), Seoul National University (SNU). He holds adjunct positions at the University of Illinois and serves as an Associate Editor for J. Am. Chem. Soc.. His research focuses on nanomaterials synthesis and applications in energy, biomedical, and catalytic systems.
Education:
- Ph.D., Inorganic Chemistry, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (1996)
- M.S. and B.S., Chemistry, Seoul National University (1989, 1987)
- Postdoctoral Research at Northwestern University (1996-1997)
Research Interests: Development of functional inorganic nanomaterials for energy storage, biomedical imaging, and catalytic processes. Emphasis on nanoparticle design for applications in soft electronics and renewable energy systems.
