Tadhg O'Keeffe is Full Professor at University College Dublin's School of Archaeology, specializing in medieval landscapes and architecture. He has supervised 15 PhD students to completion and serves on editorial boards of six international archaeology journals. His research examines Irish castles, monastic sites, and crusader landscapes through interdisciplinary methods.
Research interests include the evolution of Irish Romanesque architecture, the archaeology of feudal power structures, and methodological approaches to medieval heritage interpretation. His work combines architectural analysis with historical records to reconstruct settlement patterns.
Recent publications demonstrate a focus on religious architecture and material culture from the 12th-14th centuries, with particular attention to how built environments reflected social hierarchies.
