Tadeusz Dixa

Tadeusz Dixa is a faculty member at the Stanisław Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdańsk, within Faculty I – Conducting, Composition and Music Theory, where he has worked since 2009. He leads a composition class and teaches music theory subjects including counterpoint, harmony, instrumentation, and ear training. His academic journey includes master's degrees in music theory, composition (under Prof. Andrzej Dziadek), and symphonic/opera conducting (under Prof. Wojciech Rajski) from his alma mater, followed by studies in composition and conducting at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz, Austria. In 2019, he earned a doctorate in musical arts from the Grażyna and Kiejstut Bacewicz Academy of Music in Łódź.

As a composer, Dixa specializes in solo, chamber, and orchestral works performed across Europe. He founded and conducts the Sinfonietta Pomerania orchestra, focusing on contemporary repertoire, and has premiered nearly 30 works by Polish composers. He serves as vice president of the Sinfonietta Pomerania Foundation, which organizes Gdańsk’s New Waves Contemporary Music Festival since 2015. His work also includes CD recordings of compositional and conducting projects.
