معرفی
Tadashi Takayanagi is a Japanese theoretical physicist and professor at the Yukawa Institute for Theoretical Physics, Kyoto University, renowned for his work on string theory and the Ryu–Takayanagi conjecture. He holds affiliations with the Kavli Institute for Theoretical Physics (University of California, Santa Barbara) and the Kavli Institute for the Physics and Mathematics of the Universe (Kashiwa).
- Education: University of Tokyo (B.Sc. 1998, M.Sc. 2000, Ph.D. 2002)
Takayanagi's research focuses on the intersection of string theory, quantum gravity, and holography. He pioneered the Ryu–Takayanagi conjecture, linking quantum entanglement entropy to gravitational entropy in black holes via the holographic principle. His work bridges conformal field theories and gravitational theories in higher-dimensional spacetime.
Holistic analysis of his publications reveals trends in AdS/CFT correspondence, quantum information theory, and entanglement entropy in gravitational and field-theoretic contexts. These studies often intersect with black hole thermodynamics and non-perturbative aspects of string theory.
- Scientific Awards (selected):
- Nishinomiya-Yukawa Memorial Prize (2013)
- Breakthrough Prize New Horizons in Physics (2015)
- Nishina Memorial Prize (2016)
- ICTP Dirac Medal (2024)
His collaborations span institutions including Harvard University and the Kavli Foundation, focusing on quantum gravity and holographic dualities. The Ryu–Takayanagi conjecture remains a cornerstone in modern theoretical physics, influencing studies on spacetime geometry and quantum information.
