Prof. Turgay Şengül is a Professor in the Department of Zootechnology at Bingöl University's Faculty of Agriculture. He has held academic positions since 1984, progressing from a Research Assistant at Dicle University to Professor at Harran University before joining Bingöl University in 2009. His research focuses on poultry science, animal nutrition, and organic farming methods, with over 30 peer-reviewed publications and 20+ supervised theses.
- Education: BSc, MSc, and PhD in Zootechnology from Atatürk University and Yüzüncü Yıl University.
- Academic Ranks: Assistant Professor (1992), Associate Professor (2002), Full Professor (2008).
Research Interests: Poultry husbandry, egg quality optimization, organic livestock production, growth modeling in birds, and dietary supplements' impact on animal performance. His studies explore topics like quail nutrition, turkey carcass composition, and stress management in broilers.
Notable Projects: Investigated organic vs conventional poultry farming, dietary effects on quail eggshell quality, and growth curve modeling in turkeys. Currently focuses on banana peel powder usage and boron supplementation in poultry diets.
