TAKAHASHI Akira is a Professor in the Department of Physical Engineering, Applied Physics Field. He earned his PhD in Science from Kyoto University in 1989. His academic career includes positions as Assistant Professor at Yamaguchi University (1990-1999), Associate Professor at Nara Institute of Science and Technology (1999-2011), and current professorship.
Research focuses on quantum dynamics in strongly correlated systems, with emphasis on:
- Photoinduced phase transitions and ultrafast control of electronic states
- Terahertz spectroscopy of charge-ordered materials
- Nonlinear optical phenomena in Mott insulators
- Quantum lattice fluctuations and metal-insulator transitions
Recent publications (2017-2024) predominantly explore terahertz-induced polarization control, charge dynamics in organic conductors (TTF-CA, BEDT-TTF), and computational methods for analyzing optical spectra in strongly correlated systems. Research consistently intersects condensed matter physics, ultrafast spectroscopy, and quantum materials engineering.
Secured competitive grants including:
